It is time to ring in the new year with a trip out of town. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. While you are here enjoying th first super cold spell and possibly freezing rain of the year I will be enjoying the sun in Mexico.  For those of you that don’t know I am off on a weekend cruise to Cozumel with Deanna. She has a friend celebrating a graduation and I am tagging along.

I have not been on a cruise like this since my high school graduation (hence the photo). I did the Alaskan cruise with my family but I am expecting this beach trip to be different. I’ll be gone five days. A day and half on the boat each way and one day on the beach in Cozumel. I have a massage scheduled for the first morning but otherwise I plan to be just lazing around.

Deanna is an experienced cruiser and got us a terrific deal. I am looking forward to testing the waters again. If everything goes as I expect it will I see cruising girl trips in our future.

I have have packed as many items as I did for my two week vacation in Italy.  Good thing beach clothes take up less room.  Not sure I will need a day and evening outfit each day but I have them just in case  I also couldn’t go without multiple shoes but I  sure I will need them all.

Deanna is on her way so we are about to head out to Galveston. Gotta run.
